The Daedalus DS12 subwoofer amplifier provides substantial dynamic headroom, allowing you to easily manage the sound performance of your theater system, even at lower volume levels.

The 12" woofer uses Aperion Audio's advanced technology to produce powerful bass sounds in a compact cabinet. We prefer paper cones because they are lightweight and moderately rigid, which helps reproduce low frequencies effectively. This creates a warm and natural sound, ideal for capturing bass details.

The lightweight design of paper also makes it easy to drive, allowing it to respond quickly to audio signals. This boosts the speed and dynamic performance of low frequencies. We coat the cone with a unique damping material that reduces unwanted vibrations, lowers distortion, and improves the clarity of the bass sounds.

Our updated woofer features composite paper cones, harsh rubber surrounds, high-power voice coils, and intense magnetic circuits. These features maximize the woofer's movement and achieve high sound pressure levels at very low frequencies with great precision and control.

Daedalus DS12 Subwoofer features Aperion's new Class D amplifier technology, which extends energy across the sound spectrum. This technology enhances low-frequency sounds, making explosions and deep bass more intense. The updated filter design removes signals that may cause low-frequency damage, ensuring clear low-frequency output. We have also improved input options. We kept the standard unbalanced RCA inputs and added balanced XLR inputs to meet various needs. The Daedalus subwoofer line has dual output modes with unbalanced (RCA) and balanced (XLR) outputs. This design solves the problem of limited subwoofer output ports in preamplifiers. It allows you to use these ports flexibly for a powerful multi-subwoofer setup. No matter how many subwoofers you want to connect, Daedalus DS12 subwoofer can handle it quickly, improving your sound system's overall impact.

Daedalus stands out in the subwoofer market with its unique curved cabinet design, moving away from the typical square shape. Through this innovative look, we aim to improve the Daedalus DS12 subwoofer 's visibility while giving users a unique visual option. The smooth, ample curves on its sides are eye-catching and help enhance the sound quality.

The cabinet has a thick MDF front panel and a strong internal support system. This setup reduces unwanted vibrations and keeps the sound clear. At the center of the lower front, a sleek Aperion logo is placed elegantly. The entire cabinet is covered in a black oak veneer with a horizontal wood grain, creating a luxurious yet simple appearance.

Additionally, the large inverted pipe at the bottom and the long-notch design improve low-frequency response. Daedalus DS12 subwoofer combines a stylish look with powerful sound performance.

We have also improved input options. To meet various needs, we kept the standard unbalanced RCA inputs and added balanced XLR inputs. That connects to any receiver’s subwoofer pre-out.

XLR uses balanced transmission to minimize noise and interference, making it perfect for long-distance communication. This reduces signal loss for clearer sound quality, while the locking design ensures a secure connection.

This design solves the problem of limited preamplifier output ports and allows you to use these ports flexibly for a powerful multi-subwoofer setup. No matter how many subwoofers you want to connect, Daedalus can handle it quickly, improving your sound system's overall impact.

Auto & Standby

When the switch is set to the Auto position, the subwoofer automatically turns on and plays music when it detects an input signal. The subwoofer automatically enters standby mode if there is no input signal for more than 30 minutes.

If the switch is set to the Always On position, the subwoofer will remain powered on regardless of whether it detects a signal, and it will not enter standby mode.

Phase 0-180° Knob

The phase adjustment knob optimizes the phase relationship between the subwoofer and main speakers, resolving phase cancellation and improving low-frequency response. It's essential for accommodating different speaker positions and enhancing overall system integration.

Crossover 40-160 Hz & Off/LFE

The crossover adjustment knob lets you control the range of frequencies that the subwoofer processes. This helps it work well with the main speaker and avoids overlap or loss of sound. If both the subwoofer and the main speaker play the same frequencies at the same time, the sound can become unclear. By adjusting the crossover point, you can keep frequencies from overlapping, which makes the sound clearer. For example, if you set the crossover point to 80Hz, the subwoofer will handle sounds below 80Hz, and the main speaker will handle sounds above 80Hz.

If your AV receiver has a separate LFE output, set the crossover knob to Off. This means the RCA input acts like the LFE input. The LFE frequency range is usually 20-120Hz and is designed for home theaters. It receives processed low-frequency signals without using a subwoofer crossover.

110-220V manual voltage switch

The voltage switch, currently set to 110V, is covered in clear plastic. If you plan to use this subwoofer outside the United States, please check the local voltage requirements and adjust the switch yourself if needed.

Power socket and fuse

A US standard power cord has a 3-pin plug with live, neutral, and ground wires. The ground wire safely carries leakage current to the ground, reducing the risk of electric shock and enhancing safety. It also minimizes electromagnetic interference and improves signal quality.

Unique curved cabinet design

Daedalus distinguishes itself in the subwoofer market with its unique curved cabinet design, moving away from the typical square shape. This innovative look enhances visibility and gives users an appealing visual option while improving sound quality.

Internally Braced 1" MDF

Powerful bass needs a sturdy cabinet. Every Daedalus subwoofer is built out of strong 1" MDF and is internally braced to reduce cabinet vibration to nearly nothing.

Front Inverted cabinet design

The subwoofer has a large front-mounted inverted tube design that enhances low-frequency output, efficiency, and distortion control, making it perfect for powerful bass. Aperion's optimizations also ensure minimal port noise.

Acoustically Transparent Grille

The wooden grille is covered with black, acoustically transparent fabric. There is nothing between you and your sound. It also protects your valuable woofers from curious fingers, claws, or snouts.
