When Aperion Audio began developing the Theatrus series five years ago, we focused on a key challenge: how to create thinner, more compact speakers while maintaining excellent sound quality. Our goal was to make the Theatrus speakers versatile for various applications and to enhance their ability to blend seamlessly into different environments. Our primary objective was to engineer slimmer speakers capable of delivering exceptional sound quality. Additionally, we emphasized the importance of aesthetic appeal, ensuring that the Theatrus T80WL In-Wall Speaker could effectively blend into their surroundings for improved concealment, all while providing an immersive audio experience that meets the diverse needs of our customers.

The decoration style of private custom home theaters is increasingly focused on creating an unobtrusive and streamlined environment. Designers prioritize the concealment of external devices, such as speakers, projectors, and wiring, to achieve a clean and sophisticated aesthetic. This trend enhances the home theater's visual appeal and maximizes usable space, contributing to a more immersive viewing experience. Since the launch of the current Theatrus T80WL In-Wall Speaker model, they have received widespread acclaim from users. However, our end users and distributors have expressed additional expectations during actual use, mainly when dealing with narrow spaces.

We are delighted to introduce the new "Slim Stack In-Wall" series of Theatrus speakers. These speakers can blend into your home theater, making them almost invisible. They provide fantastic movie sound without any distractions. This long, rectangular cabinet accommodates placement between standard 16" stud spacing. 

The T80WL is ideal for front left and right as well as surround, but can be used in any position in the home theater system for a detailed and immersive sound stage.

Dual 2" Soft-dome Midrange Driver

Our high end soft-dome midrange unit features a large, low distortion 50mm voice coil, which exceeds the normal size of this type of drive unit. It's wide pole structure and special damping coating significantly reduce the medium frequency segmentation vibration. This midrange driver is commonly used in high-end monitors and audiophile speakers and is renowned for its unique design and exceptional sound quality. It provides excellent off-axis response and low distortion, delivering a warm, whole midrange tone. Additionally, it enhances sound diffusion and directivity, ensuring even distribution and reducing standing waves and reflections for a more natural listening experience.

 

Dual 8" Curv Woofers

The Theatrus T80WL In-Wall Speaker features a new Curv material from Germany Propex Fabrics. The properties of this new Curv material are lightweight, yet rigid and stiff, maintain a high temperature resistance without any water absorption, and the most important in crating a driver unit - this material has a high Young's Modulus and internal damping.

 

Sound Adjustment

The new Theatrus T80WL In-Wall speaker adapts to various arrangements and positions with adjustments for Baffle-Wall (In-Wall) or Free-Field (On-Wall). Along with the bass adjustment, we also included a high frequency adjustment to compensate the high frequency when the speaker is placed behind a projection screen.

 

5-Way gold-plated binding posts

 

The 5-way gold-plated binding posts let you connect your speakers any which way you choose: bare wire, banana plugs, spades, round pins or flat pins.

 

Hardened Steel Front Baffle

The solid steel front baffles to reinforce the wall and eliminate the rattle and buzz of common plastic frame In-Wall speaker. The heat hardened steel is powder coated for effective rust-proofing to last a lifetime.

 

Sealed In-Wall Box

One of the key steps in achieving sound quality is to contain the sound from the speaker to your room, as opposed to your wall or ceiling cavity. Theatrus T80WL In-wall speaker uses a sealed box enclosure with a total depth coming in at 5.2" (132mm) deep.

Easy mount and install

Simply mark the intended placement using the cut-out template enclosed with the speaker, prepare the opening, attach speaker wire, drop in the box, tighten screws and fit the front grille. Then, get ready to be blown away.

 

Rotatable Easy-Pull Spring-Loaded Logo

Depending on the position you choose to install the speaker, you can rotate the logo to the appropriate orientation by simply pulling and twisting the spring loaded logo.

 

Lightweight magnetic grille

To protect the speaker's drivers from accidents, pets or curious fingers, the entire Theatrus line sports a lightweight magnetic grille which can easily be removed when you want to show off your beautiful speakers to friends and family.
